    The opening book resembles the wings of birds, implying HITers searching for truth.

    The English letters HIT is the abbreviation of Harbin Institute of Technology.

    The building resembles the main building of HIT, the architecture style of which suggests the rigorous, realistic style of HIT and its belief in the pursuit of excellence.

    The surrounding gear symbolizes the power of knowledge and technology, represents the characteristics of science and engineering of Harbin Institute of Technology.

    The round shape of the badge resembles that of a rising sun, embodying HIT’s belief in seeking the truth, serving the society and pursuing excellence since its foundation in 1920.

    3. University Song

    Song of Harbin Institute of Technology is composed of Liu, Xijin, Director of China Central Opera and the lyrics is written by HIT alumni Liu, Zhongde, member of Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee.
