HITWH was founded in 1985 and is supported by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, State Oceanic Administration, Shandong Provincial People's Government as well asWeihai Municipal People's Government. After 33 years of development, HITWH now has 13 schools (departments), 37 undergraduate programs, over 860 faculty and staff and more than 11000 full-time students. The scale and quality of the university has improved greatly; a great deal of research achievements have been obtained; the research funding has exceeded 100 million for 3 consecutive years; and its influence in Shandong province has been significantly improved. We are very proud to say that HITWH has enrolled a great number of best students; we have cultivated a number of top-notch innovative talents and our graduates have been widely praised by employers. At present, HITWH adheres to the principle of cultivating talents, reforming education, promoting cooperation between university and enterprises, and opening up to the world in order to build itself into a world-class university.
